Travel Recommendations

The Pocatello area is served by one commuter airline that has nonstop service to Salt Lake City. As a consequence of the low demand, flights into the Pocatello Regional Airport are fairly expensive. There are two more economical options for arriving in Pocatello: rental car from Salt Lake City or shuttle from Salt Lake City.

The Salt Lake City International Airport (airport code: SLC) is a Delta Airlines hub and is serviced by several other airlines. It is recommended that AccApp'07 attendees fly into SLC and then either take a rental car or one of the two shuttles.

SLC Rental Cars
SLC car rental facilities are located on the ground floor of the short-term parking garage directly across from the terminal buildings. The following is a list of rental car agencies and their contact information: Advantage, 801-531-1199; Alamo, 801-575-2211, Avis, 801-575-2847; Budget, 801-575-2821, Dollar, 801-575-2580; Enterprise, 801-537-7433; Hertz, 801-575-2683; National, 801-575-2277; and Thrifty, 801-265-6677.

Driving time from SLC to Pocatello is 2.5 hours (170 miles), depending upon road construction.

SLC Shuttles

There are two shuttle services: SLASH and the Salt Lake Express.

The Salt Lake Express shuttle departs from the SLC airport and will deposit travelers at the Jackson Food Shell Station, which is directly across the street from the Red Lion Hotel. Attendees with reservations at the Primary Conference Hotel simply have to walk across the street. Attendees at the Secondary Conference Hotel will have to walk the approximately 0.2 miles from the Shell Station to that hotel. The Salt Lake Express fare is $60.48 roundtrip and has a travel time of 2h 45m. Reservations can be made by telephone or via the internet.

The SLASH shuttle departs from the SLC airport and will deposit travelers at the Primary Conference Hotel. Attendees with reservations at the Secondary Conference Hotel will have to walk across the street and the approximately 0.2 miles to that hotel. The SLASH fare is $75 roundtrip and has a travel time of 3 hours. Reservations can be made by telephone or via the internet.
Both shuttles make stops for restroom and food breaks. Please consult the shuttle web sites directly to arrange your travel schedules.

Conference Hall and Banquet Transportation

As a reminder, the Conference will provide transportation from the two Conference Hotels to the Conference Hall. Attendees that take one of the shuttles from SLC will not have travel concerns to the Conference Hall. The Conference will also provide transportation from the Conference Hotels to the Banquet.
